Tartan Wedding Handfasting - Fine Lightweight

Our premium, hand-crafted Scottish tartan handfastings are made from pure new wool and are wider than our standard featherweight versions—offering a finer finish and a more elegant look for your big day. Whether you are having a traditional wedding ceremony, civil partnership, humanist, celebrant-led ceremony, or renewing your wedding vows, these handfastings are perfect. The ancient handfasting ceremony can be used by people of any faith or belief system, those who are spiritual, and those who are non-religious. The ceremony is rich in symbolism. By binding the hands together and joining in union, you are declaring your love and commitment to one another.

Normally, two different tartans are used in the ceremony. If you have no clan or family design of your own, one of the universal designs such as the Black Watch, Spirit of Scotland, or Caledonia may be used.
