This Scottish made polished pewter pendant features the Luckenbooth heart and crown, Scotland's ancient symbol of love, thought to have been created for the engagement of Mary Queen of Scots in the mid-1500's.
The Luckenbooth is also known as a witches or fairies heart and would be worn as a protective talisman to ward off supernatural forces, such as the 'evil eye'. The charm would be worn about the person to offer protection from evil spirits, demons and wicked fairies.
