The Lord of the Isles tartan is a beautiful mix of light and dark green with white. The MacDonald Lords of the Isles were descended from Somerled, a 12th century Norse-Gaelic warlord, who controlled Argyll and Scotland’s western seaboard, largely independent of both Scotland and Norway.
