Gight Castle, Fyvie, Aberdeenshire.
Gight Castle, also known as Formartine Castle, was built by the Gordons of Gight in 1560. The family history is littered with violence, murders, executions and a series of accidental deaths, it seems that few of the family died from natural causes! The Castle was the ancestral home of the infamous Lord Byron. His mother was Catherine Gordon the 13th, and last Laird of Gight, his father, "Mad Jack" Byron, was a gambler and in 1787 the Castle was sold to clear his debts. Today the ruined Castle sits in beautiful surroundings overlooking the River Ythan. Printed on high quality Epson Archival Matte Paper, titled and signed by the photographer. Gight Castle prints are available in A4 and A3 sizes. Also available in a set of five blank cards which are individually bagged with envelopes. p> A4 Size: 21cm x 29.7cm (8.5" x 11")
