This tartan was created to celebrate Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns. The Auld Scotland name is taken from a line in the final verse of Burns's address to a haggis.
The muted colours in the design have strong associations with the Ayrshire countryside; pale wheaten tones feature prominently, reflecting ripened barley and oats, the primary ingredients of whisky and haggis which are integral parts of every Burns supper.
The Auld Scotland tartan makes an attractive kilt which is ideal for burns suppers and other social occasions.
