Castle Tioram, Dorlin, Ardnamurchan Peninsula.
Castle Tioram is an evocative ruin which sits on a small tidal islet near to the mouth of Loch Moidart. During low tide it is connected to the mainland by a sandy beach. The castle was built in 13th century as the seat of the Macdonalds of Clanranald, who ruled the area from their stronghold until the 18th century.
